The series is about a young boy Hank Lawson. who is an emergency room doctor and he is running on the fast track to success. But unfortunately he is wrongly blamed for an important patient's death. So he moves to the Hamptons here his younger brother encourages him and an ambitious young woman who volunteers to be his physician's assistant. Hank becomes a reluctant "doctor for hire" to the rich and famous. One day when the administrator of the hospital asks him to treat the town's less fortunate then he finds himself at the right path which is best for him and others.
