The series revolves around the Braverman family. This is the story of three generations. Father Zeek and mother Camille who are dealing with their own marital issues. Their oldest son Adam, his wife and three children are living like a normal family. Their daughter Sara who is a single mother and trying to raise her two teenaged kids. Their second son Crosby and his ex-girlfriend Jasmine who are helping raise their five year old son Jabbar. And finally their second daughter Julia who is a lawyer at a top corporate firm and her husband, Joel, supports her ambitions by serving as a stay-at-home father to their daughter.
