This series revolves around a group of midwives and nuns. The story of this series is based on the memoirs of Jennifer Worth and set in East London in the 1950s. The story follows Jennifer Worth who is a twenty two year old newly-qualified midwife. She leaves in a deprived area of East London. And she is working with her fellow and the medically-trained nuns of Nonnatus House, a nursing convent. Jenny and her group of midwives and nuns are coping and facing with the medical problems in a slum area of East London.
